CKCU Shows

I’ve been on CKCU FM since March 2001.  Some of my playlists from Window of Opportunity can be viewed on my  Window of Opportunity site.

Others (since January 2010) can be viewed on ckcufm.com via the playlist section.

I host Window of Opportunity on Fridays 3 – 4 pm Eastern. It’s CKCU’s Friday folk-ish show.  Now that Stoke the Folk is put to bed for the summer (and will be hosted by Matt Francis and not myself), Window is my main show.  I have been on that show since January 2002.  It was originally founded by Dean Verger, the proprietor of Rasputin’s Cafe (which closed in 2010 due to arson).  Tony joined me as a co-host in 2005, and took on more shows when I attended Algonquin College’s radio broadcasting school Sept 2010 – April 2012.

I also am a rotating host on Over My Head – Sundays 8 am Eastern.  I am usually on once a month due to my packed schedule.  My husband Tony hosts on this show as well as our head host Dave Leibold.

And due to the success I encountered in Classical Gonq (on CKDJ Tuesday nights), I have asked about starting another contemporary classical show called Classical Corner.  I do not know when the slot will be, but will post that info when I find out.  It will likely be during the day.

I also enjoyed my creative production internship at CKCU from February – April 2012.  I still am a producer there when needed.

Yours in folk and other genres,

Laurie-Ann Copple

  1. Hi there! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after reading through some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyhow, I’m definitely delighted I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back frequently!
